   WHO AM I   

“Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom, to start living the life you desire!”

 

 

For the last seven years, I have struggled with various (minor) health conditions, as many do entering their early adult life. An up and down health rollacoaster, with many many highs and a couple of lows along the way.  At times I have felt strong, confident and healthy, and others low, addicted and self-destructive.  Its now taken me to hit rock bottom to realise that now is the time to change. And change can only occur through commitment, positivite mindfullness and balance.

 

Today was like many others I have had before. A “bad day” as we call it. We all have them and they all comprise of different reasons contributing to this title. For me, they predominately focus on how I physically and mentally feel (which are always connected). And today I felt like I had been hit by a car. My body ached, my joints burned, my limbs were cold and weak, all “normal” symptoms of the muscular skeletal disorder I was diagnosed with almost 12 months ago. While my journey has been overall positive, there were certain days, like today that made my strength and positivity come crumbling down. An emotional rollacoaster when all I wanted to do was feel fit, healthy & live life!

 

For over 6 months now I have been journalling and expressing my thoughts through a private blog. And now after I reflect on all that I have learnt, all that I can share, and all that I am still to experience, with others who may be able to relate in some way or another.

 

It’s now or never and this blog is simply to share my personal journey to achieving health & happiness. Lets call it an accountability partner, cyber space, where I can be free and where I can grow.

 

My experience has taught me that our lifestyles can shape our health in so may ways. While many issues are out of our control, it’s the little things like diet, exercise, mindfullness and life choices that really can have a massive impact on the quality of our lives.

 

So lets cheers with our lemon water, ginger tea, tumeric lattes, kombuchas and of course red wine to the journey of optimal health & happiness.
